Vizag Port ranks second cleanest port among all major ports in India..!!

Visakhapatnam is proving itself that it can be second to none in cleanliness, after inching third place in recently announced “Swachh Bharat Abhiyan” results and first cleanest railway station in India ,Now  the  Visakhapatnam Port Trust is declared as the second cleanest port among all the major ports in India, next to Haldia Dock, during the ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan’ 2017.




Union Minister for Road Transport, Highways, and Shipping Nitin Gadkari presented the prestigious award to  Visakhapatnam Port Trust chairman M T Krishna Babu yesterday .In response to the call given by Prime Minister Narendra Modi for implementation of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan in all parts of the country, Swachta Pakwada Programme was conducted from March 16 to 31 in  Visakhapatnam Port, relentlessly striving for ensuring cleanliness in  Visakhapatnam Port.




The Union Minster of State for Road Transport & Highways, Shipping, Chemicals & Fertilizers Mansukh Mandaviya has personally participated in beach cleanliness programme and also visited Visakhapatnam port on march 18 and appreciated the efforts taken by VPT in up-keeping cleanliness not only in the various areas of VPT but also its surroundings.The minister’s visit to the Visakhapatnam was part of Swachta Pakwada Programme.
