Vizag : Two digital initiatives launched by Thomson Reuters

In a significant effort for digitisation of Andhra Pradesh, Thomson Reuters and the State government on Monday launched two strategic initiatives.

Innovation AppStudio will be hosted on the Gitam University campus here. It will be open to students, academia, researchers, start-ups, aimed at strengthening the ecosystem. The second initiative was the launch of Digital Content Exchange as part of the government’s e-Pragati project. Digital Content Exchange will offer trusted content powered by Thomson Reuters e-book software, ProView and legal research solution, WestLaw and will be used by educational institutions and the government departments. “These strategic initiatives were only the beginning after we signed an MoU with the government sometime ago,” Thomson Reuters Managing Director (South Asia) Pradeep Lankapalli told The Hindu.

While ProView will facilitate quick access to a host of e-books from Thomson Reuters as well as third-parties, WestLaw will give stakeholders access to global and local content including expert materials. Mr. Lankapalli said: “Thomson Reuters is proud to collaborate with the AP government in realising Mr. Naidu’s vision of building a world-class fintech ecosystem in Vishakhapatnam.” He said Innovation AppStudio would enable the students, start-ups, and researchers to access Thomson Reuters Open Platform capabilities, including its flagship financial platform, Eikon Digital Content Exchange, bring together Thomson Reuters world renowned tools and capabilities that allow stakeholders to deploy third-party content, e-books and legal research.”
